'HOME' Shirt to Benefit Recovery Efforts

NORMAN, Okla. - Due to overwhelmingly positive fan feedback, OU Athletics is producing a "HOME" t-shirt similar to those worn by the Oklahoma baseball, softball and other teams during postseason competition. Featuring the same outline of the state of Oklahoma filled with the colors of the state flag and the words "HOME," these limited-edition shirts will retail for $10.
The net proceeds from the sale of the shirts will benefit the United Way in the organization's relief and recovery efforts throughout Oklahoma. This project is a cooperative effort between OU Athletics, OU licensee Original Retro Brand and the OU Bookstore. The shirts will be available at the OU Bookstore, online at the OU Bookstore or by phone at (405) 325-3511.
Following a series of deadly storms that have ravaged cities across the state of Oklahoma in the past two weeks, the "HOME" logo was created for OU teams to show their support for the citizens of Oklahoma. After numerous fan inquiries about purchasing a shirt similar to the ones worn by the Sooners, the University of Oklahoma worked in conjunction with the Original Retro Brand and the OU Bookstore to bring this benefit product to market.
The University of Oklahoma has several benefit shirt options available for Sooner fans wishing to support aid and recovery efforts throughout the state. The "HOME" shirt joins the previously released Oklahoma Disaster Relief shirt, which features the logos of OU, Oklahoma State University and the University of Tulsa. That shirt is available in both short and long-sleeved versions and can be purchased exclusively at the official OU online store at shop.soonersports.com, operated by Fanatics. The net proceeds of both shirts benefit the United Way.
The United Way works directly with agencies such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army that have been providing round-the-clock assistance to Oklahomans in need. Services provided include opening and operating shelters, case management for those experiencing loss, mobile feeding sites for those working in disaster-affected areas, and more. Disaster relief efforts are provided free of charge and are entirely supported by financial contributions.
