DALLAS -- Oklahoma will have to overcome a 19-point halftime deficit for a second straight day to get a victory in the Big 12 Tournament.
Oklahoma trails Iowa State 41-22 at halftime of Sunday's semifinal game at the American Airlines Center.
The Sooners hit four of their first five field goals and led 10-7 before missing their next 11 attempts and letting the Cyclones get away with a 17-0 scoring run.
Aaryn Ellenberg leads Oklahoma with 11 points.
Joanna McFarland, who played just 11 minutes after getting three fouls, was next with five points.
Anna Prins has 15 for the Cyclones, who have shot 50 percent from the field and have outrebounded the Sooners 27 to 9.
The Sooners trailed West Virginia in Saturday's Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal 44-25
at halftime before rallying from a 22-point second-half deficit to win 65-64.
The comeback set a Big 12 Tournament record and was Oklahoma's largest comeback since setting the NCAA record for a win in regulation by erasing a 26-point second-half deficit against California in an 85-76 win on Dec. 13, 2008.

DALLAS -- Oklahoma set a Big 12 Tournament record for a comeback as it rallied from a 22-point deficit to beat West Virginia, 65-64, in the Big 12 Championship tournament quarterfinal at the American Airlines Center Saturday, March 9. The reward: OU's fifth straight semifinal round appearance where the Sooners will face No. 2 seed Iowa State Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Iowa State swept Oklahoma in the regular season with an 82-61 win in Ames and 72-68 victory in Norman.
The last time OU and Iowa State met in the Big 12 Tournament, the Sooners claimed the 2007 title with a 67-60 decision in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma is 23-13 all-time in the Big 12 Championship and is tied with Baylor with a league-leading four tournament titles in its history.
The Sooners are 6-2 in the semifinal round.

OKLAHOMA STORYLINES
Oklahoma rallied from a 22-point second-half deficit to beat West Virginia 65-64 Saturday and advance to its fifth straight Big 12 semifinal game.
Oklahoma and Iowa State last met in the Big 12 Tournament when the Sooners claimed the 2007 title with a 67-60 victory in Oklahoma City.
Junior guard Aaryn Ellenberg passed Erin Higgins (268, 2003-07) for Oklahoma's career record for 3-pointers, now with 269.
Oklahoma has relied on an early advantage. The Sooners are 17-0 this season when leading at halftime; 5-9 when tied or trailing.
Oklahoma is 21-1 when it has a higher field goal percentage than its opponent and 18-1 when it holds an opponent to 40 percent or lower field goal shooting.
IOWA STATE STORYLINES
The Cyclones advanced to Sunday's semifinal after beating Kansas 77-62. Chelsea Poppens led Iowa State with 24 points and 14 rebounds.
Iowa State swept the regular-season series with OU. Hallie Christofferson averaged 25.5 points in the two games.
Christofferson has scored in double digits in 25 of 29 games, including the last eight in a row.
Iowa State leads the Big 12 in free throw shooting and ranks second nationally at 80.1 percent.
Point guard Nikki Moody leads the Big 12 and is third in the NCAA with 7.5 assists per game.
The Cyclones are holding opponents to 36.0 percent field goal shooting in 2012-13, which is just three-tenths above the ISU school record. |

FIVE SOONERS EARN BIG 12 HONORS
Oklahoma's
Aaryn Ellenberg was a unanimous vote of the league's coaches to the All-Big 12 Women's Basketball First Team and
Portia Durrett was named the league's Co-Newcomer of the Year, the conference announced Thursday.
Ellenberg, voted to the first team for the second straight year, was the Big 12's third-leading scorer with 19.0 points per game. The junior guard made an Oklahoma single-season record 98 3-pointers in 2012-13 and led the conference in 3-pointers made per game (3.3) and 3-point percentage (.428).
Joanna McFarland, who led the league in rebounding and totaled 10 double-doubles in conference play, was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team. Honorable mentions went to juniors
Nicole Griffin and
Morgan Hook.
Durrett shared the newcomer honor with Texas Tech's Jackie Patterson. It was the first tie in the history of the award. A transfer from Walters State College, Durrett averaged 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 10 minutes per game.
HAND NAMED TO INAUGURAL WBCA GOOD WORKS TEAM
OU's
Whitney Hand was named to the Inaugural Allstate WBCA Division I Good Works Team, announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Feb. 26.
The WBCA Good Works Team is composed of women's basketball student-athletes who make outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement. These individuals embody the true spirit of "teamwork" and "giving back" through commendable acts of kindness.
ROSS WINS CAROL ECKMAN AWARD
Assistant coach Jan Ross was named winner of the 2013 Carol Eckman Award on Feb. 27. The Carol Eckman Award is presented annually to an active WBCA member coach who exemplifies Eckman's spirit, integrity and character through sportsmanship, commitment to the student-athlete, honesty, ethical behavior, courage and dedication to purpose.
ELLENBERG A NAISMITH AWARD CANDIDATE
University of Oklahoma junior Aaryn Ellenberg was designated one of 30 candidates eligible for the Naismith Women's College Player of the Year, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club Feb. 27. In late March, the Naismith Trophy voting academy will condense the group to four finalists.
