The Oklahoma wrestling program boasts six returning All-Americans for the upcoming 2013-14 season, and each Tuesday leading up to competition, a different one will be highlighted. Hear from redshirt senior Jarrod Patterson this week.
As a freshman in 2009-10, Patterson won a Big 12 Championship and made a trip to the NCAA Championships, where he went 2-2. His sophomore season, Patterson claimed a second-place finish at the Big 12 Championship and earned All-America honors after finishing seventh at the national tournament. As a junior, Patterson again finished second in the Big 12 and returned to NCAAs. He redshirted in 2012-13.
“He's had an outstanding redshirt year," OU head coach Mark Cody said. "I believe he is pound-for-pound one of the strongest and most well-conditioned athletes in our sport. Provided he stays solid, the sky is the limit for this young man.”
Check back next week to hear from redshirt senior Andrew Howe, who will be competing as a Sooner for the first time this season after transferring from Wisconsin.
