DANDENONG, Victoria, Australia -- Aaryn Ellenberg continued her dominance down under and Joanna McFarland added a double-double as the Sooners defeated the Dandenong Rangers 89-60 Tuesday.
Ellenberg scored a game-high 21 points, her second straight leading performance in as many contests on Oklahoma women's basketball's Australia tour. The junior guard scored OU's first eight points and finished 8-of-19 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc at Dandenong Basketball Stadium.
McFarland added 11 points and 13 rebounds from off the bench, collecting nine boards off the offensive glass against the reigning Australian Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) champions.
The Sooners jumped to a 7-point lead in the first quarter before Dandenong cut the gap to 24-21 at the close of the 10-minute period. Oklahoma raced to its 44-26 halftime lead with a 20-5 second quarter effort.
Oklahoma owned a 56 to 25 rebounding advantage and sealed the game with an 11-point run in the third quarter.
Freshman Nicole Kornet scored 11 points and junior Nicole Griffin added 10 as four Sooners reached double figures.
Dandenong's Hope Terdich had 11 and Stephanie Cumming 10 to lead the Rangers.
Former Oklahoma State Cowgirl and Melbourne native Tegan Cunningham scored five points for Dandenong before leaving at halftime due to obligations with another team.
The Sooners fly to Sydney Wednesday and play the Maitland All-Stars.
