OU claimed the program's 12th regional title and will play in the program's third NCAA Super Regional
after winning four straight games for the first time since the 2006 NCAA Norman Regional. That season also saw the Sooners drop the opener to TCU, but battle back out of the loser's bracket to advance to the program's first Super Regional appearance at then-No. 1 Rice. OU last appeared in the Super Regionals in 2010 at then-No. 1 Virgina when it defeated the Cavaliers in games two and three to advance to the Sooners' 10th College World Series appearance.
The 2012 Sooners begin the NCAA Super Regional on Saturday against South Carolina in Columbia at 7 p.m CT on KREF 1400 AM and ESPNU. Game two will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday on the same stations while Monday's if-necessary game will be played at 6 p.m. (KREF and ESPN2).
