Father, Son Live Ultimate Sooner Experience

He remembers his first game as an OU student in 1988 when Jamelle Holieway ran the wishbone offense with precision. He remembers rushing the field in 2000 after Oklahoma knocked off No. 1 Nebraska on its way to the national title. And he remembers jumping around in 2008 when the Sooners rocked Texas Tech.
None of those memories, however, compared to the experience he and his father shared Saturday at OU's annual Spring Game.

A Tulsa-native now displaced in Austin, Texas (of all places), Minton won OU's online auction experience to go behind the scenes at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and to see what game day is like from the team's perspective.
Chris and his father, John, were treated to an all-access tour including stops in the OU locker room, equipment room, press box, Switzer Center and SoonerVision.
The highlight was Coach Stoops personally showing them around his office.
"Pretty much blown away," Chris said of the overall experience. "All of the coaches and players were extremely friendly and accommodating. I really loved getting to see the locker room and all the other facilities."
During the game, the Minton's had sideline passes to watch the action from field level and enjoyed a surprise meeting with Adrian Peterson.
Season ticket holders for the past 18 years, it was the ultimate experience for a father and son who have been lifelong Sooner fans.
"What a truly special day to go behind the scenes of our favorite team," John said. "Meeting Coach Stoops and roaming the sidelines to capture photos and autographs, it's something I will remember forever."
Throughout the day, the smiles on their faces told the story. It was just like their first game together back in 1978... only better.
