MADISON, Wis. -- Redshirt freshman Justin DeAngelis won the FILA Junior Nationals freestyle title at 70 kilograms on Saturday, April 14.
DeAngelis, who finished fifth last year, defeated Minnesota's Brad Dolezal, 0-2, 3-0, 2-0, to take home the 154.25 pound championship.
Additionally, freshman Cody Brewer finished second to Mark Grey in the 60 kilogram bracket, while fellow freshman Daniel Deshazer claimed seventh in the same bracket.
The FILA Junior age group is comprised of 17-20 year-olds. The champions in each of the seven Olympic weight classes, plus 50 kilos, earned automatic berths in the best-of-three finals of the FILA Junior World Team Trials, which take place May 25 in Colorado Springs.
The top six finishers in the seven Olympic classes, plus 50 kilos, qualified for the FILA Junior World Team Trials.
