• Oklahoma held Texas A&M to 38 percent field goal shooting but still lost a 62-53 decision in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Kansas City.  The Sooners beat the Aggies 65-62 just five days earlier in Norman.

• A&M posted a 37-28 rebounding advantage, including a 13-6 margin on the offensive glass.  The Aggies scored 15 second-chance points to OU's eight, becoming just the third opponent in the last 15 games to outscore the Sooners in the category.

• OU led by five (14-9) with nine minutes left in the first half before the Aggies used a 16-4 run to go ahead 25-18 with two minutes remaining.  The Sooners battled back to tie the game at 39 with 9:10 left in the second half, only to see A&M counter with six straight points to take the lead again for good.

• A&M outscored OU 35-31 in the second half.  The Sooners outscored just two opponents after halftime this year in their 19 games against Big 12 competition (not since Jan. 17 vs. Texas Tech).

• Romero Osby led OU in scoring for the third time in three games against A&M this year.  The junior forward finished with a game-high 17 points on 4-for-6 field goal and 9-for-12 free throw shooting.  His nine free throw makes and 12 attempts were career highs.  Osby averaged 19.7 points on .742 (23-for-31) shooting against the Aggies this year.

• Junior point guard Sam Grooms tallied 13 points (second highest career total), a career-high seven rebounds and four assists.  His four turnovers were his most in 20 games and second most on the season.

• Junior guard Steven Pledger averaged a team-high 16.6 points on the year entering the night but was held to six points on 2-for-8 shooting.  He failed to make a 3-pointer (four attempts) for just the fifth time this year (fourth time in the last eight outings).

• Pledger averaged 19.7 points in OU's wins this year (.573 field goal shooting) but was held to 13.2 in the team's losses (.369).

• OU exited the Big 12 Championship without a win for just the fifth time in the 16-year history of the event (fell to 20-13).
