NORMAN, Okla. -- Future Sooner Nicole Kornet was named the Most Valuable Player of the Navy team at the WBCA High School All-America Game, played Saturday at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo.

Kornet scored 12 points, three rebounds and three steals for Navy, which lost 74-62 to the White team on the court that will host the NCAA Women's Final Four matchups.

The Lantana, Texas, native averaged 20.8 points and 7.2 rebounds for Liberty Christian (Argyle, Texas) and was a TAPPS 5A All-State First Team member.

Kornet was OU's first participant in the WBCA All-America Game since redshirt-junior Whitney Hand, a Liberty Christian graduate, scored 10 points in the 2008 contest.

Jewell Loyd, a Notre Dame signee who totaled 18 points and eight rebounds, was the White team MVP.

Kornet joins Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year Maddie Manning in OU's incoming freshman class.

Manning averaged 16.6 points, five rebounds and four steals for Ankeny High School, leading the Hawkettes to a state championship game appearance and taking state tournament MVP honors.
