Tennis Hosts Two Big 12 Matches

NORMAN, Okla.. – The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team continues Big 12 play this weekend with two conference matches at home against Iowa State on Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m., and Missouri on Sunday, March 25 at noon at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Oklahoma (7-8, 2-1 Big 12) enters the weekend following its 4-3 loss to College of Charleston on Tuesday, March 20.

The Sooners are led by Marie-Pier Huet and Whitney Ritchie, who play at No. 1 doubles and split time at No. 1 singles.

As a duo, Huet and Ritchie are ranked No. 44 nationally and are 12-3 at the No. 1 doubles spot. Ritchie holds a team-best overall record of 13-4 combined from the No. 1 and No. 2 single spots.

Iowa State (3-12, 0-2 Big 12) opened its Big 12 season with back-to-back losses to Texas and Texas A&M last weekend. The Cyclones three wins this season came against Northern Iowa, Eastern Michigan and Drake.

Missouri (5-6, 0-2 Big 12) also opened conference action with two losses to Texas and Texas A&M. The Tigers defeated No. 62 Virginia Tech the week before losing to the two Texas schools.

Admission to all home OU women's tennis events is free.
