NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 17 University of Oklahoma baseball team fell 9-5 in game two of the series against Texas on Saturday in front of a season-high 2,332 fans.

The loss dropped OU to 11-8 overall and 0-2 in Big 12 play while Texas improved to 9-8 and 2-0. The Longhorns' win also clinched the series with Sunday's finale slated for 1 p.m.

Texas out hit the Sooners 15-11, including three triples and a double. Erich Weiss led the Longhorns with four hits while driving in two runs and scoring two more.

"That's the best hitting club we've seen all year," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.

The Sooners jumped on top for the second straight game after loading the bases in the first and a fielder's choice by Evan Mistich gave OU a 1-0 lead. They loaded the bases on Texas again in the second, but Erik Ross lined into a double play to end the threat.

That opened the door for Texas in the top of the third as the Sooners gave up two runs off a triple and a wild pitch. The Longhorns tacked on two more runs in the fourth off a two-run triple by Jordan Etier.

In the bottom half of the fourth, the Sooners countered with a RBI single by Ross and a two-run single with two outs by Max White.

Neither starting pitcher made it out of the fifth inning. Texas starter Ricky Jacquez gave up three runs in three innings while OU's Jonathan Gray (2-3) gave up five runs in 4 1/3 innings after Texas regained the lead in the fifth inning.

The Longhorns added an unearned run off relieve Steven Bruce to take a 6-4 lead in the sixth that they never relinquished. Hoby Milner (3-3) earned the win for the second straight night with one run allowed in three innings of relief.

The Sooners, which entered the series as one of the top fielding teams in the Big 12, committed four errors in Saturday's game and have seven in the series.

"Clearly it's disappointing and surprising that we haven't been able to do the things we know we can do," said Caleb Bushyhead who finished 2-for-5 on the afternoon.

Sunday's finale is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The game will be broadcast on the Sooner Sports Network KREF 1400 AM with Toby Rowland and Chris Plank. Game three will also be televised by the Sooner Sports Network on Cox Ch. 3/703 HD with Chad McKee and Ross Hubbard.
