After accomplishing the feat Friday night against Wichita State, the All-American duo did it again as Shults hit a two-run home run, scoring herself and Destinee Martinez who reached base on a fielder's choice. With the bases cleared, Ricketts followed with a solo shot over the centerfield fence for her sixth home run of the season and her third of the weekend.
Oklahoma gave up its first run in 25 innings in the third as Samantha Berenter scored an unearned run after reaching on an error by Ricketts. The Indiana second baseman advanced to third on a single by Shannon Cawley before scoring on a single by Meaghan Murphy.
One inning later, Shults knocked her second ball out of the park with a shot that sailed over the right field fence and left the OU Softball Complex for a 4-1 Oklahoma lead. The home run was Shults's sixth of the season and gave the junior her second multi-home run game of the weekend after hitting two in Oklahoma's win over Wichita State on Friday.
Next up for the Sooners is a trip to Fullerton, Calif., for the Judi Garman Classic. Oklahoma takes on No. 25 Depaul and No. 14 Michigan on Thursday before facing Virginia and Penn State on Friday. OU closes out the weekend on Saturday morning with a match up versus No. 4 Washington.
