PREVIEWING BAYLOR
Baylor continues to go unchallenged in Big 12 play. Featuring National Player of the Year candidate Brittney Griner, the Lady Bears remain undefeated in 2011-12 at 23-0 (10-0 Big 12) and ranked No. 1 unanimously in both polls.

Baylor leads the Big 12 in scoring offense (80.7 points per game), scoring defense (50.7) and rebounding margin (+14.7).

Griner is the seventh-leading scorer in the nation, averaging 22.8 points and has a team-leading 9.8 rebounds per game. The 6-8 junior also leads the nation with 5.2 blocks per game.

Sophomore point guard Odyssey Sims averages 15.3 points and 5.2 assists while junior forward Destiny Williams contributes 10.2 points and 9.0 rebounds.

 Sooner to Watch

Sharane Campbell | Fr. | Guard
Since the Sooners last met Baylor, Campbell has been the surprise star. In the past three games, the freshman has averaged a team-leading 18.0 points, hit 60 percent of her field goal attempts and grabbed 6.3 rebounds. She has also led the team at the free throw line, where she is 21-of-29 (.724), in the span.

SOONERS GROWING THREATS
Since losing junior forward Joanna McFarland, the team's top rebounder and 3-point percentage leader, with a broken jaw suffered at Oklahoma State on Jan. 14, the Sooners have relied on unusual characters to win.
• Oklahoma was 4-1 with McFarland out of the lineup (2-0 on the road), losing only to No. 1 Baylor.
• Reserve freshman guard Sharane Campbell has been the team's leading scorer in two games and averaged 16.2 points in McFarland's absence.
• Sophomore guard Aaryn Ellenberg scored 31 points and had a career-high nine steals in OU's first game without McFarland, a 65-57 win at Kansas State, which was previously undefeated in Big 12 play and at home.
• But, Ellenberg, the team's leading scorer, suffered through an 0-for-14 3-point streak and had career lows in OU's two road games.
• Freshman forward Kaylon Williams averaged 9.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in OU's two road wins at Missouri and Kansas. Her 16 rebounds against Missouri were the most by a Sooner this season.
• Sophomore center Nicole Griffin totaled nine points, seven rebounds and nine blocks -- the most by a Sooner since Country Paris patrolled the paint -- in OU's win over Texas.
• Senior center Jelena Cerina, a junior college transfer, scored OU's first eight points of the second half in its win versus Oklahoma State en route to a career-high 16 points.

HAND VOTED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
Oklahoma's Whitney Hand was voted to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Women's Basketball First Team, announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America. As a first-team all-district selection, the Sooner co-captain will be eligible for consideration as an Academic All-American.Hand graduated with a 3.76 GPA in health and exercise science in December. The Sooners have had 13 Academic All-District women's basketball players under the 16-year tutelage of Sherri Coale. Four have been voted Academic All-Americans.

COALE CLOSING ON VICTORY NO. 500
Sherri Coale guided Norman High School to two state championships and a 147-40 record in seven years before becoming the Sooners' head coach. In the college ranks, Coale has 351 victories in 16 seasons, leaving her just two shy of 500 in her career as a head coach.

TWO SOONERS ON NAISMITH WATCH
Sophomore Aaryn Ellenberg and redshirt-junior Whitney Hand were among the 51 women's college basketball players on the Naismith Trophy Early-Season Watch List released Nov. 29. Ellenberg has averaged 16.2 points for Oklahoma this season. Against Liberty, the 5-7 guard set an OU record by making a 3-pointer in a 23rd consecutive game, which extended to 29. Hand has totaled 12.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as she recently crossed 900 career points.
