Oklahoma opened the day by winning its second five-inning, run-rule game in as many tries as Brittany Willimas hit two two-run home runs to help defeat Boise State, 9-0, in five innings. The win was Oklahoma's ninth of the year as they moved to 9-1 on the year while Boise State fell to 8-5 in OU's third straight shut out.
The win marked Oklahoma's first back-to-back run-rule games since defeating North Texas, 9-1, and Iowa State, 13-0, in back-to-back five-inning games on May 5 and 7 in 2011, after OU defeated UC Davis 10-0 in five innings late Thursday night.
Michelle Gascoigne got her second straight win for the Sooners to move to 5-0 on the season, giving up just two hits in five innings while striking out nine Broncos. Williams hit two-run home runs in both the first and fifth innings, her second multi-home run game of her career and her first as a sophomore.
In the night's second game, Stanford jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the game's first inning before adding three runs in the bottom of the sixth and improving 10-3 while OU fell to 9-2. OU was held to three hits as Keilani Ricketts took the loss for the Sooners as she struck out 10 in five innings while giving up eight hits. The game was Ricketts' fifth of the season with at least 10 strikeouts.
Stanford got on the board first when Leah White laid down a bunt to get a single before heading to third when Ricketts' throw to first got past Allee Allen. Ashley Hansen hit a triple to right field on the next play to send White home for the Cardinal's first run. Jenna Rich doubled in the next Stanford at bat and Hansen was sent home for Stanford's second run.
The Cardinal added three runs in the bottom of the fifth on four hits, an error and a wild pitch to close out the game against Oklahoma.
