FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 31st-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team fell to No. 32 Arkansas on the road Friday, 5-2.

Oklahoma (4-3) lost its third doubles point of the season, while OU's 22nd-ranked doubles pair lost its first match of the year at the No. 1 position.

“Today was very disappointing,” OU head coach David Mullins said. “We had a lot of good openings to make this a close match and just hesitated when we got the lead.”

Sophomores Mia Lancaster and Whitney Ritchie won OU's two dual points Friday.  Lancaster defeated Claudine Paulson at the No. 3 spot, 6-2, 7-6 (6), while Ritchie topped Stephanie Roy at the No. 2 spot, 6-1, 6-3.

“Hopefully we can rid ourselves of any doubt tomorrow and take full advantage of any opportunities,” Mullins added.

Next up, the Sooners play No. 25 Yale Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m., in Fayetteville, Ark.
