OU Athletics Announces Staff Additions

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma vice president for intercollegiate athletics and director of athletics Joe Castiglione announced the following staff changes Tuesday.
"Michael Alford, Michael Meade and Kimberly Miller are wonderful additions," said Castiglione. "They come to us highly accomplished and recommended. They will help us move our department forward in new and exciting ways.
"The changes for Dr. Nicki Moore and Renata Hays allow us to expand their duties and influence. Both have poured themselves tirelessly into our department and now step forward to meet existing needs, while also exploring new projects and opportunities.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve with a dynamic group of coaches and administrative staff that help us create the best possible environment for our student-athletes. All of these people will help us strengthen our mission of 'Inspiring Champions Today and Preparing Leaders for Tomorrow.'"
Michael Alford joins OU Athletics as senior associate athletics director for development. Alford owns 17 years of experience working in intercollegiate athletics and professional sports. He comes to OU from the NFL's Dallas Cowboys where he served as senior director of corporate partnerships and sales since 2008. Alford also served as the general manager of Crimson Tide Sports Marketing from 2004-2008.
He spent four years working in the athletics department at the University of Southern California from 2000-2003, in addition to experience with the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), the Cincinnati Bengals and the University of Cincinnati. Alford earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1993 and completed a master's degree at the University of Arkansas in 1995.
Nicki Moore, Ph.D., senior associate athletics director, is moving from the department's academic unit to direct student life and athletics strategic planning and will continue in her role as senior woman administrator for OU Athletics. During her tenure directing the department's academic program, student-athletes attained their highest cumulative GPA in OU history and achieved increases in graduation rates, Academic Progress Rates and service to the community.
Dr. Moore previously served OU as assistant athletics director for psychological resources and strategic planning from 2007-2010 and was the director of OU's psychological resources for student-athletes program from 2004-2007. Dr. Moore is a licensed psychologist and earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri where she was a track and field student-athlete and four-time team captain.
Michael Meade has been hired as associate athletics director for athletics academics services. Meade held various posts at the University of Arizona since 2007, most recently serving as director of student-athlete academic services.
Prior to his appointment in Tucson, he held the role of assistant athletics director for academics and student life at the University of Toledo from 2004-07.
He worked in a variety of capacities at Michigan State University from 1997 to 2003, in addition to serving at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., from 1995 to 1997. Meade received a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1994 and completed a master's degree from Michigan State in 1999.
Renata Hays has been promoted to assistant athletics director for branding and licensing. She previously served as the director of licensing for OU Athletics since 2009 and spearheaded significant growth in that area. A 2006 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with bachelor's degrees in marketing and public relations, Hays served as a student assistant in the OU Athletics Communications as an undergraduate. Prior to her full-time appointment at OU, she served in several capacities with the National Football League from 2006-09.

Kimberly Miller has been appointed director of human resources for OU Athletics. Most recently, Miller served as a human resources generalist for Cimarron Energy. She previously held posts with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Oklahoma Criminal Justice Resource Center and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services from 2008 to 2012. Miller also worked in the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector's Office and the Office of the Governor of the State of Oklahoma from 2003 to 2008. She holds a bachelor's degree from Langston University and a master's degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma.
