NORMAN, Okla. --
The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has announced several fan giveaways and promotions for Monday's 2 p.m. Field House Series men's basketball game against Texas A&M Corpus-Christi inside historic McCasland Field House.

The game will mark the first regular season contest in the building since the 1974-75 season. The day will carry a 1940s theme and the Sooners will wear special Field House Series uniforms.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive an OU men's basketball historical poster, highlighting the significant players, coaches and moments from the program's first 106 seasons.
OU Slinkys for first 500 kids
OU slinkys will be given to the first 500 kids (age 12 and under) who enter the building. The slinky was introduced in the mid-1940s.

McCasland's concession stands will feature throwback prices. Popcorn and 16-ounce fountain sodas will cost 50 cents each, while hot dogs, nachos and bottled water/soda will sell for $1 each.

Music from the era will be featured throughout the afternoon, and a Frank Sinatra impersonator will also perform. Select game staff will wear 1940s-themed clothing, including OU fedoras.

The decade was highlighted by an NCAA championship game appearance for the Sooners in 1947, and multiple members of that squad are scheduled to be in attendance and recognized at halftime Monday.

The Sooners won five conference titles in the '40s under Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame head coach Bruce Drake, and finished in second place three times. National player of the year Gerald Tucker led OU to a 24-7 record and the national final in 1946-47.

Tickets for the New Year's Eve afternoon game cost just $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 2-12. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking here or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-4668. All public seats are reserved.

OU student tickets for the contest are free, but students must possess a physical ticket to gain entrance (available online here or at the OU Athletics Ticket Office). Free OU student tickets will also be available at the west entrance before the game, while supplies last. Student seating will be general admission on the north baseline.

The game, and our 10-day countdown, will highlight OU's basketball success in the 1940s with a focus on the 1946-47 season. The Sooners made their second trip to the Final Four under head coach Bruce Drake in March of '47. Check back each day for features, photos and video as OU celebrates the Field House Series.
