Men's Hoops Visits Ronald McDonald House

January 26, 2012 | Men's Basketball

NORMAN, Okla. -- Head coach Lon Kruger's Oklahoma men's basketball team has made every effort to invite fans to its Lloyd Noble Center home this year for practices, games and other special hoops events. One night earlier this month, members of the OU program accepted an invitation of their own for a special visit to the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City.

Members of the OU staff, including Kruger, joined the coaches' wives and juniors Sam Grooms and Amath M'Baye in preparing dinner and visiting with families at the house.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City benefits children by providing a "home away from home" for families with seriously ill or injured children receiving medical treatment in the metro area.

By providing lodging, meals and laundry facilities, the house helps relieve some of the financial burdens and stress for families during difficult times. The support and positive environment at the house allows families to focus on their child's health.
