PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners were picked by the league's coaches to finish fourth in the Big 12 Conference this season. The media voted Oklahoma 15th in the Preseason Associated Press Poll and the Preseason USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll had Oklahoma at No. 16.

Oklahoma returns to the court following a third straight Sweet 16 appearance. OU returns nine letterwinners from that squad and introduces four freshmen.

The Sooners must replace one of its most successful senior classes after the graduations of two-time All-American point guard Danielle Robinson, Carlee Roethlisberger and Lauren Willis. That trio claimed 54 wins inside the Lloyd Noble Center, the most by Oklahoma in a four-year span.

Redshirt junior Whitney Hand is finally back to 100 percent health after suffering an ACL tear in November 2009 and returning to action in January 2011.

Sophomore Aaryn Ellenberg, the team's top returning scorer, was true to self in the team's preseason scrimmage by leading the scoring with 22 points.

Unfortunately, senior Jasmine Hartman will not play in 2011-12 after tearing her ACL in a September workout and Lyndsey Cloman doing the same in OU's first exhibition game on Nov. 2.

Captains for 2011-12
Junior Lyndsey Cloman, redshirt junior Whitney Hand and senior Jasmine Hartman are co-captains of the Sooners this season. The captains were voted by their teammates.

All Home Games Televised
All 14 of OU's regular season home games plus the two exhibition contests will be televised either locally on the Sooner Sports Network or nationally on Fox Sports Net or ESPN2.

OU's games on the Sooner Sports Network are also webcast on SoonerSports.com All-Access subscription site (exhibitions free).

An additional eight road games are scheduled to be televised on various networks, giving OU a guaranteed slate of 24 television broadcasts in 2011-12.

 Sooner to Watch

Sharane Campbell | Fr. | Guard
Campbell caught fire in the final three minutes of Oklahoma's upset of No. 10 Texas Tech on Wednesday. The freshman scored all nine of her points -- also OU's final nine -- in the last six possessions of the game, a span in which she also collected two rebounds and forced two Raider turnovers by taking a charge and an illegal screen.

PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA STATE
Oklahoma State hosts the first round of Bedlam in Stillwater, where it is 7-0 this season and last knocked off then-No. 23 Texas, 70-51, for its first win over a ranked team in two seasons.

OSU lost to No. 1 Baylor, 71-44, in Waco, Texas, on Wednesday. The Lady Bears were the first OSU opponent to shoot better than 40 percent from the field (47.4 percent). Entering the game, OSU led the nation in field goal percentage defense.

Four Cowgirls average double-figure scoring. Freshman forward Liz Donohoe leads scoring with 14.7 points per game and adds 6.3 rebounds. Sophomore Toni Young is the leading rebounder with 6.9 boards per game to go with her 12.1 points.

Sophomore point guard Tiffany Bias leads the nation in assists per game, averaging 8.1, and scores 10.6 points per game.

OU-TEXAS TECH LEFTOVERS
• OU snapped a 10-game losing streak to AP Top 10 opponents. OU's previous win over a top-10 team was a 77-72 OT victory against (7) Notre Dame in the 2010 NCAA Sweet 16.
• The Sooners are now 4-33 all-time as an unranked team versus an opponent in the AP Top 10. Before Wednesday, the last such win was against then-No. 7 Texas Tech, 68-62, in Lubbock, Texas, on Feb. 10, 2004.
• The Sooners went 0-for-17 for a 10-minute, 11-second stretch in the second half. However, OU was able to corral nine offensive rebounds and make eight free throws in the span.
• OU's 22 offensive rebounds was a season high and the most since collecting 23 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 29, 2010.
• Sharane Campbell scored all nine of her -- and Oklahoma's final nine -- points in the last 3 minutes of the game.
• Aaryn Ellenberg hit two 3-pointers to reach 136 in her career, tying Stacey Dales for No. 7 all-time at Oklahoma.
• Whitney Hand's perfect 11-for-11 free throw shooting were career highs for makes and attempts.

ROBINSON EARNS TOP VIII AWARD
Former Oklahoma women's basketball standout Danielle Robinson was one of eight student-athletes selected by the NCAA to receive one of its highest honors.

Robinson will be recognized Friday, Jan., 13, in Indianapolis as a Today's Top VIII Award winner.

The NCAA Today's Top VIII Award recognizes student-athletes who completed their athletics eligibility during the 2010-11 academic year for their success on the fields and courts, in the classroom and in the community.

Freshmen Rise to the Occasion
Sooner freshmen played a pivotal role in OU's upset of then-No. 10 Texas Tech in Norman. Sharane Campbell scored all of her nine points, consecutively for OU, in the game's final 3 minutes, pouring in the game's final seven points while taking two offensive fouls by Tech to create two extra defensive stops.

Campbell was assisted twice by freshman point guard DaShawn Harden, who also came up with two steals and one rebound in the final three minutes. Freshman forward Kaylon Williams had career bests for points, rebounds and blocks in the game.

Ellenberg, Hand Rising Up 3-Point Charts
Redshirt-junior Whitney Hand and sophomore Aaryn Ellenberg are closing on Oklahoma's top 10 career 3-point records.

Ellenberg is tied with Stacey Dales at No. 7 all-time with 136 career 3-pointers, trailing No. 6 Sunny Hardeman by three. Hand is closing fast on the top 10, just two shy with 126.

Freshman Leads OU in Final Minutes
Sharane Campbell leads OU in points scored in the last five minutes of regulation, averaging 3.7, more than twice as many as any other Sooner. Campbell is 20-of-22 (.909) at the free throw line during this period. The next highest total of free throw attempts by a Sooner is 12 by Whitney Hand.

Ellenberg Turning Up Her Defense
The sophomore has 14 steals in the last five games, averaging 2.8, which accounts for one-fifth of her career total.

In the previous nine games this season, she totaled 15 (1.7 per game). As a freshman, Ellenberg averaged just more than one per game with 37 in 35 games.

Ellenberg Pacing Paris
Aaryn Ellenberg is scoring at a pace unmatched by a Sooner except the last one to wear No. 3. Ellenberg reached 800 career points in her 48th career game. Courtney Paris did it in 37.

With 814 points, Ellenberg is on pace to become OU's 26th 1,000-point scorer by the end of February.

Whitney Hand has a total of 833 points and is also on pace to cross the 1,000-point mark by the end of the regular season.

Coale at 493 Wins as a Head Coach
Sherri Coale guided Norman High School to two state championships and a 147-40 record in seven years before becoming the Sooners' head coach.

In the collegiate ranks, Coale has 346 victories in 16 seasons, leaving her just eight wins shy of 500 in her career as a head coach.

Two Sooners on Naismith Watch
Sophomore Aaryn Ellenberg and redshirt-junior Whitney Hand were among the 51 women's college basketball players on the Naismith Trophy Early-Season Watch List released Nov. 29.

Ellenberg has averaged 17.7 points for Oklahoma this season and has been the team's leading scorer in eight games. Against Liberty, the 5-7 guard set an OU record by making a 3-pointer in a 23rd consecutive game, which extended to 29.

Hand has totaled 12.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as she recently crossed 800 career points.
