| SOONER TENNIS NOTES |
PAVAL THE LEADER
The 2010 All-American and Big 12 Freshman of the Year looks to take over the No. 1 spot for the Sooners in the spring and the fall tournaments will go a long way in solidifying him in that position. Paval's fall ranking of No. 17 is the highest a Sooner has been ranked since Andrei Daescu was ranked No. 10 in 2009. The two-time NCAA qualifier finished the 2011 campaign with a record of 18-7.
NEWCOMER ALERT
Roddick's squad added two high-profile newcomers in Guillermo Alcorta and Dane Webb. Alcorta
reached a career-high ATP ranking of 580 and was one of the top three juniors in Spain before coming to Norman. Webb, a five-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net, was the No. 5 recruit nationally and No. 1 in the Gulf States and Texas. Roddick's squad is the only school to have two newcomers on the list in back-to-back seasons. Last year, Siributwong and Laurentiu Gavrila topped the newcomer rankings.
