NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women's basketball team introduces four freshmen in 2011-12 that have the enviable task of continuing the program's incredible success. Following the graduation of a senior class that played in two Final Fours and won a record number of games inside the Lloyd Noble Center, this quartet is quickly developing their own identity with the team's returning letterwinners.
OU freshman Katherine Zander built her competitive edge in the pool, where she and her twin brother took to their first sport at 8 years old. Though she was among the nation's elite swimmers, Zander followed her first love of basketball to her destination in Oklahoma.
Born in the Pacific Northwest and hailing from Florida, Zander stills takes a dip from time to time in this landlocked state. However, the confessed gym rat looks to build her resume on the hardwood.
Watch and listen to Zander discuss her journey to Norman, her fellow freshmen and the schedule she keeps to develop both athletically and academically.
