NORMAN, Okla. -- OU women's basketball's second day on campus marked the first day of preseason drills.

Following a team meeting wherein coaches and upperclassmen guided the freshmen through team policies and the expectations of the group both on and off campus, the Sooners hit the court at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Though practices won't officially begin until mid-October, at this point of the year, teams are allowed by the NCAA to have two hours per week of skill instruction with coaches and groups of no more than four players. That's just what the Sooners did Tuesday as the posts, wings and guards split into separate sessions throughout the day.

The drills are a precursor to what will occur once practices begin. The players use this time to learn and develop habits of communication and movement -- both in muscle memory and moving without the basketball -- staples of Sherri Coale's teams.
