Rowing Closes Out Season at Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The University of Oklahoma women's rowing team met three ranked opponents in the Oak Ridge Invitational on Melton Hill Lake. Two of four boats fielded in the heats competed in the grand finals.
The open four opened up the morning session, finishing fifth with a time of seven minutes and 57.390 seconds behind No. 5 Virginia (7:32.800), No.20 Notre Dame (7:45.300), Louisville (7:48.380) and Duke (7:49.770) to advance to the petite finals. In the petites, OU finished third with a time of 7:57.870, behind Duke (7:48.800) and Rhode Island (7:54.590).
The varsity four finished fourth in their heat with a time of 7:44.790 behind Virginia (7:25.30), Duke (7:36.990) and Tulsa (7:41.330) to advance to the petite finals. The Sooners finished first in the petites with a time of 7:39.700 over Rhode Island (7:45.930) and UCF (7:50.540).
The third varsity eight competed in a final only, finishing third with a time of 7:07.360 behind Virginia (6:50.400) and No.11 Clemson (7:04.670).
The second varsity eight finished third in their heat with a time of 6:57.840 behind Virginia (6:50.200) and Louisville (6:57.330) to advance to the grand finals. In the finals, OU finished fifth with a time of 6:53.55 behind Virginia (6:39.300), Clemson (6:42.36), Notre Dame (6:44.920), and Rhode Island (6:52.450).
The varsity eight finished third in the morning heat with a time of 6:46.210 behind Virginia (6:35.200) and Notre Dame (6:43.410) to advance to the grand finals. In the finals, the Sooners finished sixth with a time of 6:47.270.
