Design the Shirt: Fan No. 3
April 05, 2011 | Athletics
"I am the mother of two boys both born with Cerebral Palsy. They both love OU sports but neither will ever have the chance to play sports.
"Years ago, I decided that the next best thing would be for them to participate in the different sport activities by focusing on role models that they could look up to. I have not been disappointed as, from the ages of eight and nine, both of my boys have never missed going to the signing events and meeting the players.
"They are now 17 and 18 and their room is full of OU pictures and signed memorabilia. They try to emulate the players and get so involved that they talk like the players are their personal friends.
"We attend the basketball and football games but I only have two season tickets for football so they take turns going. The one left behind always makes sure he gets to watch the game on television.
"I am happy that I could do this for my boys. When the opportunity came along to design a shirt, I passed different ideas by them and we came to the conclusion that the design that I sent to you was their favorite. They feel, as I do, that this design encompasses the OU traditions which have made all of us in Oklahoma proud to be a Sooner.
"Thank you for considering our project. BOOMER SOONER!"
