Rowing Takes Second in Big 12 Championship

Kansas City, Kan. - The University of Oklahoma women's rowing team competed in the Big 12 Championships today on Lake Wyandotte in Kansas City, Kan. OU finished in second overall, scoring 85 points, behind No. 15 Texas with 111 points.
The second varsity four placed second with a time of 8 minutes and 53.600 seconds, behind Texas (8:45.500). Kansas finished third (9:05.100), and KSU did not compete.
The second novice eight placed third with a time of 8:03.800, behind Texas (7:37.900) and Kansas (7:46.300). The first novice eight finished fourth with a time of 7:29.600, behind Texas (7:18.300), Kansas (7:23.000) and KSU (7:24.900).
The first varsity four finished second with a time of 7:50.900 behind Texas (7:44.100). KSU (8:10.900) finished behind OU and Kansas finished fourth (8:16.000).
The second varsity eight finished second with a time of 7:09.800 behind Texas (6:55.900). KSU took third (7:14.400) and Kansas finished fourth (7:16.500).
The first varsity eight finished second with a time of 6:57.900 behind Texas (6:47.700). KSU finished third (7:02.500) and KU finished fourth (7:03.500).
The Sooners return to the water May 7 for the 25th annual Windermere Cup in Seattle.
