NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson was named Wednesday to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Region Team.
The 52-member all-region team will be trimmed Monday, March 21, to 40 candidates who will be finalists for the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.
Robinson was a State Farm All-American last season, following Courtney Paris' four-year run on the elite team. The senior guard leads Oklahoma with 18.4 points and 4.8 assists per game.
Robinson was joined on the Region 5 Team by Texas A&M's Danielle Adams and Tyra White, Baylor's Brittney Griner, Odyssey Sims and Melissa Jones and Iowa State's Kelsey Bolte.
Robinson and the Sooners meet Region 2 finalist Dawn Evans and James Madison in the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship Sunday, March 20, at 1:30 p.m. Central in Charlottesville, Va.
