Klaus to Participate in Patriot All-America

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma senior Ben Klaus will begin first-round play Wednesday at the inaugural Patriot All-America Invitational in Litchfield Park, Ariz. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the three-course Wigwam Golf Resort and benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation.

The Patriot All-America field consists of 84 collegiate golfers, 21 of them ranked among the top-100 among amateurs in the world.

Klaus has participated in 11 career events for the Sooners. The Edmond, Okla., native posted a career-best finish as a junior at last year's Oak Hills Invitational, finishing in second place out of 95 golfers with a three-round 209 (-4).

Klaus has played in one event this season, posting a 74.66 average through three rounds at the Oklahoma Christian Intercollegiate. He finished in a tie for 35th place in the 65-man field.

The Wigwam Golf Club, along with the Arizona Golf Association (AGA) and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), is partnering with the Folds of Honor Foundation to host the inaugural Patriot All-America.

To show support for Folds of Honor, each golfer will carry a commemorative PING golf bag bearing the name of a fallen soldier from the community in which they live or attend school. Folds of Honor is a charitable organization with a mission to empower deserving military families with educational support and opportunities by providing post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our country.
