Hook Big 12 Player of the Week

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma's Morgan Hook was selected the Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, voted by a media panel for games played Dec. 19-26.

Hook averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 assists and hit 67 percent of her field goals to lead Oklahoma to back-to-back victories and a sweep of the field at the Duel in the Desert tournament at UNLV's Cox Pavilion.

The sophomore was named the tournament MVP after scoring 15.3 points per game and carrying a .727 field goal shooting percentage for the three-day, three-game tournament that began Sunday, Dec. 18.

The Sooners' point guard totaled a game-high 21 points, one shy of a career best, to lead OU to an 82-63 win over Syracuse in the second game of the event. She made a career-high five 3-pointers and was 6-of-9 overall from the field and 4-of-4 at the free throw line. The sophomore also had a career-high six rebounds, five assists and one steal against the Orange.

Against Xavier in the tournament finale, Hook scored 11 points and had three steals and four assists to one turnover in OU's 73-51 win.

It is Hook's second career player of the week selection.

Oklahoma State's Liz Donohoe was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week.
