NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma men's cross country team gained a spot to No. 4 in the latest national rankings provided Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Sooners moved up after being ranked No. 5 the past four weeks. Wisconsin, Oklahoma State and BYU remain the top three and Stanford is behind Oklahoma at No. 5.
The men's team concludes its record-setting season with the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 21. The Sooners finished second in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 12 to automatically qualify for the national meet. Jessica Engel placed fifth overall on the women's side to automatically qualify as an individual for the national meet.
Indiana State will host the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind.
The men's race will begin at approximately 12:08 p.m. ET, followed by the women's race at approximately 12:58 p.m. A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from noon to 1:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com. In addition, highlights from the championships will be included as part of the CBS NCAA Fall Seasonal Show scheduled to air on Saturday, December 18, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET on CBS HD.
