NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's golf team fired a final-round 293 (+5) to claim victory at the 11-team David Toms Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the par-72 Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport, La. The win marked the third for OU under third-year head coach Ryan Hybl.

Oklahoma finished the event with a three-round 862 (-2) and beat second-place Lamar by 10 strokes. Three Sooners finished in the top six of the 60-man field.

"What a great day for us," said Hybl. "I am excited for the guys. We had a great team effort all week and everyone played their part. The great thing is that we did not put it all together and still managed to win. It is a nice sign for us moving forward."

Michael Schoolcraft entered the day in sole possession of first place after his two-round, 6-under performance Monday, but fell two spots into a tie for third place after shooting a final-round 76 (+4). Still, the finish marked a career best for the sophomore from Denver, Colo. Schoolcraft finished six strokes behind medalist Andrew Noto of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Eduardo Castiello turned in another solid round for OU, shooting 72 (E) on the final day. The sophomore recorded two birdies and just two bogeys on the day. His three-round 216 (E) was marked with consistency and resulted in a tie for sixth place. It was the second-best finish of Castiello's career.

Abraham Ancer also performed well for Oklahoma. Ancer recorded three birdies in the final round and finished the day at 2 over par. The junior's three-round 216 (E) put him in a tie with Castiello and two others for sixth place. It marked Ancer's fourth top-25 and third top-10 finish in the team's four events this fall.

Michael Gellerman fired a team-low 71 (-1) Tuesday, rebounding from a 4-over par performance in Monday's first two rounds. The freshman found success on the course's four par-5 holes Tuesday, recording three birdies and a par. Gellerman climbed 12 spots to finish the event in a tie for 14th place.

Kevin Lee shot a final-round 76 (+4), dropping eight spots to a tie for 28th place at +7. The sophomore was a late replacement for injured senior Riley Pumphrey.

The Sooners will be back in action Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas, Texas.
