NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma Athletics Communications Office and Sooner Sports Properties announced the Sooner baseball team's 2011 radio and internet broadcast schedule on Monday.

The season marks the second with KREF 1400 AM serving as the flagship station of Sooner baseball. The partnership started prior to the 2010 season and provides expanded coverage for OU fans to listen to 54 regular season games live over the air. The station's coverage will also extend into postseason play.

Additionally, 23 of the games are set to be carried on the Sooners Sports' Network, enabling fans to listen to OU baseball on the radio state-wide. The state-wide coverage begins on April 1 against Texas Tech and will continue for each of the games in Big 12 play. The network schedule also includes the Sooners' midweek games at home against Oklahoma State (April 5) and TCU (April 12).

The entire 56-game regular season schedule will also be broadcast live on the internet via Oklahoma All-Access, OU's premium content site.

The first opportunity to hear Oklahoma baseball live on KREF 1400 AM falls on opening day, Friday, Feb. 18, as the Sooners open a nine-game home stand against William & Mary. The four-game set with the Tribe will be followed by a two-game midweek series with Arkansas-Pine Bluff (both games will be heard on the internet only) and a three-game weekend set with Oakland.

OU returns 21 letterwinners, including seven position starters and two weekend hurlers, from last year's College World Series squad and begins the season ranked No. 5 in Baseball America's preseason poll. The Sooners won 50 games in 2010 en route to the program's 10th CWS appearance a year ago.

Sooner Alumnus Chuck Kelly enters his seventh year calling the play-by-play for the OU baseball team in 2011. Kelly will be joined by former Sooner Ross Hubbard (2009-2010) as the color analyst for a majority of the games. Hubbard replaces another former Sooner in DeWayne Vaughn, who took the pitching coach job at Texas Wesleyan in the offseason.

The duo will provide a 30-minute pregame show for the 2011 season.
