Funeral Services Set for Rosalind Ross

NORMAN, Okla. -- Funeral arrangements have been made for former OU women's basketball star Rosalind Ross, who was killed one week ago Wednesday in her hometown of Milwaukee.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Great Christian Faith Fellowship, 8605 W. Good Hope Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53224.

"The entire Oklahoma women's basketball family is saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Rosalind Ross," OU head coach Sherri Coale said. "She was an integral part of that incredibly special 2002 national runner-up team that put our program on the map. She was the consummate competitor, a teammate in the truest sense of the word. Her contribution and legacy are forever etched in our program's history. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and her teammates during this most difficult time."

Remembering Rosalind Ross

Ross, 30, joined the Sooners after a two-year stint at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She started all 36 games of the 2002 season when the OU women advanced to the program's first Final Four appearance and finished the season ranked No. 2, the program's all-time highest standing.

Ross was named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team and just days later joined teammates Stacey Dales and LaNeisha Caufield as WNBA first-round draft picks, selected 16th overall by the Los Angeles Sparks.
