NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooner fans are encouraged to utilize OU's official social media platforms this weekend for breaking news.

SoonerSports.com will be available but inactive throughout the holiday weekend due to a network transfer. OU's official site is part of the CBSsports.com College Network.

CBS will move its core infrastructure to a data center in Los Angeles. The center ranks as one of the most prominent technology facilities in the Western U.S.

As a result, the network will see a significant expansion of its core infrastructure environment and network connectivity. This move will enable CBS to better serve the OU Athletics Department and its constituents.

The effort will begin at approximately 5:01 a.m. CT Friday morning. CBS expects the move to be completed within 24-36 hours -- however, it may carry into Sunday, July 4.

Throughout the move, SoonerSports.com will remain visible to the world, but there will be a few components of the site that will be unavailable or will not function. Access to core content such as headlines, schedules, bios, rosters and photos will not be interrupted.

The OU Athletics Department will continue to post news and updates on its official Facebook page and Twitter feed during the transfer.
