NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 11 Oklahoma (47-15) will travel to Charlottesville, Va., to play then nation's No. 5 seed, Virginia, in the NCAA Super Regional this weekend.
The series will start on Saturday, June 12 at 2 p.m. CT and will be aired on ESPU from Davenport Field. Sunday's game will get underway at 3 p.m. on ESPN and Monday's finale is slated for either noon or 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The No. 1 Cavaliers (50-12) knocked off St. John's, 5-3, on Monday afternoon to win the Charlottesville Regional. Virginia was one of eight host sites playing in an if-necessary game on Monday.
Virginia entered the beginning of the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in each of the four major polls and finished first in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavaliers made their first appearance in the College World Series in 2009.
"Brian O'Connor is doing a great job of building Virginia into one of the nation's top programs," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "It's going to be a tremendous challenge to go out to Charlottesville. We are looking forward to competing this weekend."
The Sooners won three straight games en route to capturing the NCAA Norman Regional Championship on Sunday with a trio of one-run wins over Oral Roberts (7-6, 10 innings) and two against North Carolina (7-6 in 10 innings and 3-2).
Oklahoma last met Virginia in 1999 during the ACC-Disney Baseball Bash. The Sooners lost 12-4 on Jan. 31 after winning the first two games in the tournament over Maryland and Georgia Tech. The game marks the only meeting between OU and Virginia.

• Tickets for the 2010 NCAA Baseball Charlottesville Super Regional will be on sale to OU fans through the OU Athletics Ticket beginning Tuesday, June 8 at 8:00 a.m. The super regional format is a best of three series vs. the University of Virginia.
The series will start on Saturday, June 12 at 2 p.m. CT at Davenport Field. Sunday's game will get underway at 3 p.m. and Monday's finale is slated for either noon or 6 p.m. CT.
Prices are $16 for reserved single session tickets. Tickets will be out of the University of Oklahoma allotment and must be purchased for each game that OU participates in. Tickets will be available on a first – come, first – served basis and are subject to availability.

After learning their NCAA Super Regional destination Monday evening, Coach Golloway and members of the OU baseball team met with the media prior to practice Tuesday afternoon.
The Sooners discussed the matchup with the Cavaliers, the challenge of playing on the road and the excitement of being just two wins away from the College World Series.

OU IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
OU is 73-62 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The 2010 Super Regional will the be the Sooners second in the five full years under head coach Sunny Golloway.
Oklahoma last won the National Championship in 1994 and captured its first title in 1951. OU is one of 13 schools to win multiple national titles in Division I baseball. The Sooners also advanced to the College World Series in 1951, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1975 when the tournament was played in a district format.
With nine College World Series Appearances, the Sooners made their first appearance in the NCAA Super Regional round in 2006 against then-No. 1 Rice. The format originated in 1999.
OU is 14-9 in the NCAA Tournament under Golloway.
