Opening statement:
"We sure made it interesting the last few days. I'm just very proud of our guys. It's kind of a typical game for us in ways. We have struggled on the mound a little bit. When you have to come in a tough situation and get a key punch-out in a bases loaded situation, after them scoring, they have a chance to go up one and he doesn't let it happen. Us being the home team and the way we are swinging the bats, I think that was key. A lot of praise for the lineup. We get up early, they make their run, they score, they tie it up and just to stick to it. Sometimes this year we didn't do that so today was really a good day for us and it was really nice to come out on top in one of those types of ball games. It might be the cardiac kids is what we are, because I know my chest is a little sore right now. But I am very proud of these two guys up here (Seth Furmanek and Tyler Garewal) and our effort today in this ball game. It was a tough ball game and we get to continue to play."
On starting Tyler Garewal:
"Tyler had a really good year for us last year and he's in a platoon situation with left-handed and right-handed pitching, and it's what we've done with Chris Elder. I told him at the beginning of the year, the outfield is going to be the most difficult thing to coach because everyone of those guys deserves a chance to play. To Tyler's credit, he's been really awesome about his role and the role he took on because he was a special player for us last year. What I wanted to do today was try to get a little more offense in there and defense."
On this giving the team extra momentum going into tomorrow's game:
"I just think they believe in one another. Tyler has played unselfishly all year and has had a great attitude. It's funny how the game rolls around when your attitude is right. In key moments you can end up finding yourself. These guys just want a chance to continue to play. They want a chance at Omaha and move on and go to the World Series."
On what was going through his mind when he hit the walkoff home run:
"I didn't know what to think. My feet still haven't hit the ground. Right when I hit it I thought it had a chance. I got the right pitch. The pitch I was looking for was a fastball, letter high. I hit it and I feel like my feet haven't touched the ground yet. Once I hit third and saw everyone around the plate I thought of Kendry Morales and I didn't want to jump and break a leg, so I figured I would go in there nice and easy and get ready for the team. That was probably the greatest sports moment for me."
On whether the team is going to be able to continue the home run production:
"If the wind keeps blowing out I think so. The ball is carrying really well and that helps our team out. We try not to focus on that. We focus on hitting the ball, squaring it up and hit the gap. If it goes out it's out."

"That was a great ball game. We fought back hard. I thought or team grew up a lot from being down 6-1, and then finding a way to get the score even. You know our dugout was tremendous, kids just fought hard, and that was kind of indicative of our season throughout the whole year. You know, our journey this year has never been an easy one, and we could have made it easier on ourselves in many ways but we just never seemed to. But our kids, I think learned a lot about resolve and coming back from adversity and that's kind of what this game is about, and you need to learn that in order to get good at it.
"Unfortunately, we faced some tough defeats during the year, but I think that's going to make us stronger in the end. I'm just so proud of our team in so many ways as far as how young we were, and inexperienced. I don't think we had a kid on the field who had started a regional game even though we were at the regional's two years ago. It's virtually a brand new team for us. We showed a little bit of inexperience at times but I thought we grew up and kind of figured out how to play at this level at these types of games by the end. And again, I'm proud of our team, and congratulations to Oral Roberts. They didn't stop either. They didn't stop fighting as well."
