Buechele homered twice in the game, his second multi-homer game of the season ... With his two homers tonight he passed teammates Cameron Seitzer and Max White for the team lead in home runs (15) ... OKLAHOMA CITY -- The No. 12 Sooners won their second and final game of pool play in the Big Championship on Saturday, 13-2, against No. 25 Kansas State.

The win improve Oklahoma to 44-15 overall as it will await its postseason destination.  The Sooners will await the announcement of the NCAA 64-team field on Monday at 12:30 p.m. EST on ESPN. The 16 regional site selections will be released on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. EST.

"I thought we played well today," head coach Sunny Golloway said. "Our guys came out, were lose and intense. I thought it was really important that we play well and win. I think we made a pretty good statement today."

Kansas State's loss to the Sooners drops the Wildcats to 36-20 on the year. The Sooners have now won 22 of the last 28 against the Wildcats.

OU scored six runs in the fourth and never looked back.

Garrett Buechele led the way for Oklahoma behind his two solo-home runs. Buechele finished the game with two runs on three hits and added two RBIs. The sophomore ranks third in the Big 12 in home runs with 15 and leads OU with seven solo homers on the year.

Bobby Shore (8-4) got the win for the Sooners after he pitched a solid six and two-thirds innings. The junior finished with a 4.52 era while giving up only two runs.

"Really good, but let's remember he is really talented," said Golloway on Shore's impressive outing. "The only trouble he is going to get in is the trouble he gets himself in. I thought he did a great job of settling in."

Oklahoma struck first in the top of the first after KSU's catcher overthrew at second base, which brought Max White across home.

Buechele hit his first solo home run in the top of the third to even the score at 2-2.

The Sooners went off in the fourth as Danny Black began the scoring onslaught and drove in Cameron Seitzer. Caleb Bushyhead hit a single to bring Cody Reine making the score 4-2.

OU went ahead 6-2 after Cale Ellison hit a two-run double which brought in Black and Bushyhead. Ellison gave the Sooners a 7-2 lead after he stole third as the result of an errant throw from the Wildcats' catcher. Buechele then hit his second solo homer of the game to put OU up 8-2. This is the second time this season Buechele has hit two homers in a game. The last time he did it was April 13, against Oklahoma State.

The Sooners scored one run in the fifth and five more in the eighth to secure the 13-2 victory over Kansas State.
