Cameron Seitzer (3-for-5, 3 RBI) hit his 14th home run of the year in the seventh inning, a three-run shot, to give OU a 6-5 lead. After KU tied things up in the bottom half, OU came back with another three-run bomb off Ogle's bat (2-for-4, three RBI).
"Cam came up big for us, getting the knock right there and we kept the pressure on them late," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "Tyler is swinging such a good bat right now, you have to let him swing away. He came through big for us again, now two days in a row."
The series sweep improved Oklahoma to 42-14 and 15-10 in Big 12 play, good for its second straight second-place finish in the conference standings. It marks the first time the Sooners have produced back-to-back top two finishes in Big 12 play and it's the first time since the 1994 (second) and 1995 (first) College World Series teams accomplished the feat. The 42 regular season wins is also the most since the 1989 team won the same amount .
"Our guys really played well," added Golloway. "We had some great at-bats late in the game. Our guys came through when they had to. This game is about making pitches, making plays and getting hits when you have to and we did that today. We did it all weekend."
The loss dropped Kansas to 31-24-1 and 11-15-1, good for a seventh place finish and a rematch with Oklahoma on Wednesday in the first round of pool play in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City.
"We have to turn around and play these guys again on Wednesday from what I understand," said Golloway. "We've seen them three times already and now a fourth. They are a good baseball team."
KU's Tanner Poppe tossed six innings and gave up four runs on four hits before giving way to the Kansas bullpen. Taylor Thomas gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning and Travis Blankenship (1-5) gave up the final three runs in 2 2/3 innings.
Max White gave OU the game's first lead on a RBI single through the left side of the infield in the second inning and when Jimmy Waters, the left fielder, misplayed the ball and allowed Chris Ellison came around to score behind Cody Reine. Both runners were issued walks by KU starter Tanner Poppe.
Kansas responded with back-to-back RBI singles in the third from Tony Thompson and Waters. In the fourth, the Jayhawks took the lead as they batted around to plate three runs and end Shore's afternoon.
Caleb Bushyhead extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a double to center field in the fifth inning. The streak is tied for the 10th longest in program history behind a 19-game span posted by Buechele earlier this year.
Kansas quickly countered in the bottom of the seventh with its first run off the OU bullpen, a RBI single by Brett LIsher off Jarrett Semler. The Sooners have scored 13 runs off the Jayhawk relievers.
The Sooner bullpen received two big double plays, the first in the seventh inning with runners on first and third as Chris Manship grounded into a 5-4-3 double play off Jarrett Semler. In the eighth, KU had a runner on first but Brian Heere was induced by Anthony Collazo into a 3-6-3 double play.
Collazo recorded his first win of the season in the finale with no hits or runs allowed in the eighth inning. Jeremy Erben recorded his second save in as many days in the ninth. The bullpen, which allowed one run throughout the weekend, picked up starter Bobby Shore, who allowed five runs, four earned, in 3 2/3 innings off seven hits and four walks.
