SERIES HISTORY

The Sooners lead 116-62-1 since 1942 but have dropped the last three series with the Jayhawks, including the last three-game set at Hoglund Park in 2008. Last season, Kansas won the first two games in Norman before OU claimed a 10-9 victory in the finale. Below is a closer look at the series between the Sooners and Jayhawks.

- In Big 12 play, OU has won 10 of 13 series openers (lost openers and the overall series in 2003, 2008 and 2009).
- OU has lost the last four games in Lawrence with its last win during game two in the 2006 series. That game marked the sixth straight road victory for OU in the
series.
- KU's 2008 sweep was its first in Big 12 play vs. OU. The Sooners have swept the Jayhawks three times (1997, 2001 and 2004) since the Big 12 formed in 1997.
- Teams have met at least three times every year since 1985.
- Sooners have scored 10 or more runs versus the Jayhawks in 14 of the 39 Big 12 meetings.
- 20 games have been decided by three runs or less in the Big 12 era (OU leads 14-6), including seven one-run games where the Sooners are 6-1.

PLAYER TO WATCH - RYAN DUKE
The junior closer is one save away from tying the OU career mark held by Jeff Bajenaru (28). Duke ranks second in the Big 12 and eighth nationally with 11 saves. Despite being 11-for-11 in save opportunities, Duke has just one in his last eight appearances. However, in that span, he posted a pivotal victory in the 13-inning affair at Texas A&M (season-high 4 2/3 IP). Since then, OU has won 12 of the last 15.
