NORMAN, Okla. --
An estimated crowd of more than six thousand Sooner fans enjoyed the first Season Ticket Holder Super Saturday in Norman.

The event provided season ticket holders a true, inside look at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the Everest Indoor Center and the Switzer Center. Along the way, they toured everything from the press box to the new locker room to Bob Stoops' office.

Fans were also able to step onto Owen Field, tour the stadium suites, the press box, the weight room, the equipment room, the training room, SoonerVision's studios and team meeting areas. Members of OU's staff, including Vice President for Athletics Programs and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione, were on hand at all of the facilities to welcome fans and explain areas of operation.

"Our program has continued to grow, and that's a good thing, but in that growth we want to maintain a close bond with our fans," Castiglione said."We want to meet those who support us on a personal level. This event afforded us that opportunity, and by its very nature as a unique inside look, let our fans know just how special they are to us."

If you attended the event, we'd like to hear from you. Post responses on the OU Athletics Department Facebook page or email the Athletics Department here. Also send us your photos from the event and we'll post in a special photo gallery on SoonerSports.com. Send photos to oupics@gmail.com.

"I am 65 years old and am a season ticket holder going on 12 years. I have always wanted to see the view from the press box but that was wishful thinking until that day. Thank you OU for this opportunity. My first football game at OU was in 1964. My two grandsons and nephew and wife enjoyed this occassion and Oklahoma does play like champions. Thanks." - Ralph

"I would just like to thank Joe Castiglione and the entire athletic department for hosting the Super Saturday. It was a great event and I had a great time meeting members of the athletic department and touring the facilities. I now feel closer to the football program than I have felt before, and I think that events like this will help to make the crowd at OU home games feel more connected to the program and the team. My parents are season ticket holders as well, and they thoroughly enjoyed the event. Both myself and my parents will be cheering as loudly as possible come fall. Boomer Sooner and thanks again." - William

"I had a great time. My brother attended w/me. He loved standing on the field as I did. I loved seeing the locker room. Awesome. Had pic taken w/ Mr. Castiglione. I did everything except see Mr. Stoops office. So I hope there will be another Super Saturday. Great job. Go Sooners." - John

"I enjoyed visiting the Academic Center the most since I had been previously to some of the other stops on the map. Since I was one of a very few visitors at the time I was there I was able to engage several of the staff in extended conversations about their particular areas of responsibility. I came away with a great appreciation for all that is available to OU athletes. I wish more fans had taken the opportunity of visiting the Academic Center. I view it as a very important component of the athletic department since without it many athletes may not succeed in their collegiate experience without its resources. Also every Sooner Club staff that I encountered was very friendly, helpful, and informative. All in all a very nice event." - Anonymous

"My 7 year old son and I attended the Season Ticket Holder Super Saturday tour of Memorial Stadium and we had a great time. I just wanted to thank you for doing this and let you know everything was first class and we enjoyed seeing and talking to your support staff. Thanks again." - Matt

"Thanks for a great fan day on open house Saturday. I brought my kids and grandkids and they were totally mesmerized by the whole experience (as was I). As a 20 year season ticket holder that day ranks as one we won't soon forget. Thanks again." - Mike

"Thank you so much for allowing the fans this chance to see everything Saturday. It was awesome. As a Sooner fan for 35 years, it was especially awesome to walk on Owen Field. As a Pride member, my daughter gets to all the time! Thanks again." - Richard & Teresa
