SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The University of Oklahoma men's golf squad tied for fourth at the 24-team Cowboy Classic, hosted by the University of Wyoming at the Talking Stick Golf Club North Course in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Tuesday.

The Sooners (279-290-287) closed the 54-hole event with a team score of 856 (+16) at the par-70, 7,133-yard layout.  CSU-Northridge won the event with its +1 tally, while San Diego (+10) and Western Carolina (+14) placed second and third.  Big 12 foe Colorado tied OU after shooting a final-round 282.

Oklahoma was paced by senior Ben Blundell (71-69-68) who closed the event with a pair of red-figure rounds and placed third.  His placement was the best finish by an OU golfer this season, while his final-round 68 tied his low round of the year.

Four shots back in a tie for seventh was Liam Logan (69-74-69).  Logan's bookend 69s tied a season low and pushed the Ft. Worth, Texas, native into his first top-10 finish of the year.  A stroke behind Logan was Tyler Rody (66-73-74) in a share of 12th at +3.  Rody's first round marked the lowest score by an OU golfer this season.

Rounding out the team scoring in a share of 72nd were Riley Pumphrey (74-74-76) and Ryan Sirman (73-74-77).  Both closed the event at +14.

OU returns to the links at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio, on April 10-11.
