The Sooners' losing streak hit a season-high three games and Oklahoma is 22-6 overall on the season and 3-4 in Big 12 play. The Longhorns improved to 21-7 and 7-2.
Oklahoma fell behind 6-0 after the top of the fourth, but battled back with a two-run homer off the bat of Max White in the bottom of the frame to cut the lead down to four. It was White's fifth home run of the season in just 12 starts.
Strong pitching nearly highlighted the entire series for both sides, but the Longhorns' Brandon Workman (5-1) held the Sooners at bay on Saturday with eight innings of four-hit ball. OU's J.R. Robinson (1-2) gave up four runs in the start over two innings and was the first of six OU pitchers used on Saturday.
Texas claimed won games one and two by scores of 5-0 and 2-0, respectively, as all four starting pitchers in those two contests lasted at least five innings.
On Saturday, Workman retired the side in order in the first three frames, but Garrett Buechele broke up the no-hitter in the bottom of the fourth with a single to right and White's homer followed to left center.
Texas regained the six-run advantage after a pair of doubles plated Cameron Rupp in the seventh and the Longhorns added another run in the frame on a fielder's choice.
The Sooners once again battled back with their own pair of doubles in the eighth inning as Tyler Ogle led off the inning with an extra-base hit down the left-field line and pinch hitter Rickey Eisenberg sent his base knock in the exact same location to give OU's its third run of the game.
However, Texas came right back with a solo home run by Kevin Keyes, his second longball of the game and the third from the visitors, to round out the scoring on Saturday afternoon.
Over 2,000 fans packed L. Dale Mitchell Park for the third straight day with 2,260 on hand on Saturday and ended the series with a three-game total of 6,623. It was the largest total attendance for a three-game home series since 6,689 fans were on hand for the OU-Texas series in 2004.
Next up for Oklahoma is a midweek contest at No. 12 TCU on Tuesday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Sooner Sports Network, KREF 1400 AM.
Following the road game on Tuesday, the Sooners return to Norman to host Missouri in a three-game set at L. Dale Mitchell Park on April 9-11.
