OU Heads to Desert for Cowboy Classic

NORMAN, Okla. – The OU men's golf team heads to the desert for the 2010 Wyoming Cowboy Classic at the Talking Stick Golf Club North Course in Scottsdale, Ariz., on April 5-6.

The 24-team tournament hosted by the University of Wyoming features 130 golfers in action at the 54-hole event.  The field will play two rounds on Monday and a final 18 holes on Tuesday. 

Competition includes Air Force, Arizona (individuals), Arkansas-Little Rock, Cal State Northridge, Colorado, Gonzaga, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Old Dominion, San Diego, Seattle, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, UTEP, Weber State, Western Carolina and Western Kentucky.

OU's lineup features Ben Blundell, Liam Logan, Riley Pumphrey, Tyler Rody and Ryan Sirman.

Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 1998, the 7,133-yard, par 70 layout has hosted the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 1998 and `99, and the USGA Sectional Qualifier in 1998, 2002 and 2005.
