NORMAN, Okla. --
No. 15 Oklahoma (30-11) recorded its first shutout of 2010 with a 14-0 blanking of Dallas Baptist (23-17) on Tuesday as head coach Sunny Golloway recorded his 200th career victory at the helm of the Sooners' program.

The Sooners have won 21 of the 23 all-time meetings with Dallas Baptist, including each of the last six games. Tuesday's win marked the largest margin of victory in the series and completed the season sweep for OU, which topped DBU, 8-4, on March 9 in Dallas.

After 41 games, OU has equaled its start from last season when it earned a No. 7 national seed and hosted the NCAA Norman Regional. In 2010, the Sooners are 10-1 in midweek games and 22-3 overall in non-conference play with four weeks of action remaining.

The OU offense wasted little time in filling up the scoreboard on Tuesday night with a five-run first inning. Nine Sooners went to the plate in the big inning as they batted around for the 15th time this season. The five runs came courtesy of a three-run double by Drew Harrison and a two-run homer by Danny Black. All five of the runs came with two outs as Black blasted his third home run of the season, all of which have come in the last week of play.

Black finished with four RBIs off a 3-for-3 evening and he has collected eight hits and driven in 15 RBIs in the last five games.

"We've been talking to our guys about attacking early and they did that," said Golloway.

The same was true on Sunday at Texas A&M as the Sooners posted 10 runs on the road, including nine in the first five innings.

"We've had better at-bats and we are more relaxed," said Golloway of the recent surge which has seen OU score 24 runs off 22 hits.

Freshman Ryan Gibson benefitted from the offensive explosion on Tuesday and improved to 4-2 after his second-longest outing of the year with 5 2/3 innings pitched. The Yukon, Okla., native tossed a season-high 106 pitches en route to combining on the shutout with Anthony Collazo (1.0 IP), Michael Rocha (1.1 IP) and Brandon Bargas (1.0 IP). Gibson struck out six batters and allowed six hits and five walks.

"Ryan needs to have more confidence in his stuff," added Golloway. "When Ryan figures that out, the sky is going to be the limit for him."

In the fifth, the Sooners plated six runs and hit through the order again as Caleb Bushyhead got things rolling with a RBI single. Two batters later, Black drove in two more runs, this time on a single, and pinch hitter Tyler Ogle capped off the scoring in the fifth with a three-run blast down to left field.

DBU starter Aaron Gilbreath (1-2) took the loss after giving up the first five runs after three innings of work. He was one of five Patriot pitchers to see time on the mound Tuesday.

The game was put completely out of reach in the sixth with a three-run triple by Cale Ellis off Duncan McAlpine. Garrett Buechele doubled earlier in the frame to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.

OU continues the five-game home stand this weekend as it hosts No. 20 Kansas State in the final home Big 12 series of the season. The Wildcats are currently in second place in the Big 12 standings with a 9-5 mark.

Friday's opener is slated for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park, while game two gets underway at 5 p.m. Sunday's finale is set to begin at 1 p.m.
