TRINITY, Texas – The OU men's golf squad closed the 2010 Big 12 Championship in a tie for seventh after carding one of just two red-figure rounds during Sunday's last day of play.  The Sooners fired a final-round team score of 1-under-par 287 at the par 72, 7,425-yard Whispering Pines Golf Club, climbing two spots from their Sunday start of ninth.

Oklahoma State was the only other team under par on Sunday, posting a 6-under-par 282 en route to its fourth straight conference title.  The Cowboys won the 72-hole event by 13 shots over Texas A&M.

Oklahoma closed the three-day event at 1184 (+32), paced by Ben Blundell's 27th-place finish at +8.  The Rowlett, Texas, senior fired rounds of 74, 74, 75 and 73.

Two shots back was Riley Pumphrey (71-71-78-78) in a share of 32nd.

Liam Logan jumped 13 spots up the leaderboard to T36th on Sunday after a 3-under-par 69, which tied the lowest final round of any golfer in the 60-man field.  The Fort Worth, Texas, product notched a 14-shot improvement over a third-round 83 after opening the event with rounds of 78 and 70.

Rounding out the Oklahoma team scoring were Tyler Rody (77-75-77-73) and Ryan Sirman (77-76-78-72).  Rody placed 40th at +14, while Sirman was a stroke back in a tie for 43rd.

Spurred on by a second-round 65, Texas Tech's Chris Ward held off OSU's Peter Uihlein for a two-shot victory in the medalist race.  Ward closed the event at -9 after a final-round 74, while Uihlein fired a 70 on Sunday.
