NORMAN, Okla. --
Cameron Seitzer hit two home runs and Jeremy Erben picked up his team-leading fifth win as the No. 17 Sooners tallied a 5-4 victory over Stephen F. Austin (7-4) on Sunday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The win was the fourth in as many games for Oklahoma (11-1) in the Sooner Classic and it extended the winning streak to six games. OU was a perfect 5-0 this week with four of those victories coming by one-run margins.

"A little closer than we want, three one-run ball games, but the thing that I do see is that we are a club learning how to win," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway on the weekend. "That's important. I think you have to learn how to win and believe that you can."

Caleb Bushyhead scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth on Sunday as Chris Ellison's one-out fielder's choice with the bases loaded was just enough to bring him home.

After 12 games, OU is off to its best start under Golloway. The Sooners have started a season 11-1 on six different occasions in program history and the 1998 club was the last to do so (12-1). Other Sooner teams to start 11-1 include 1991 (11-1), 1985 (23-1), 1984 (11-1) and 1981 (22-1).

Erben, who was nearly spotless in the final two frames with one hit allowed, notched his third win of the week as he made four appearances overall.

"He's a guy that has the ability to start for us," Golloway said about Erben. "He's a perfect example of what we want leading our guys. He's not selfish and its hard for anyone else to be selfish filling the role the we've asked him to fill.

The senior captain, who was the opening day starter in 2008, has not allowed a run in his last six outings, spanning 11 2/3 innings. His two innings on Sunday, combined with Jason Chowning's 4 1/3 scoreless frames, helped freshman Ryan Gibson avoid his first loss of the season.

Gibson's start ended in the third inning after Bobby Loveless sent a two-run homer over the fence in center field and gave the Lumberjacks a 4-2 lead. Gibson also surrendered two runs in the first off three hits and finished with 2 2/3 innings pitched. Sunday's start came on four days rest following the freshman's seven-inning win over UT-Arlington on Tuesday.

Despite Gibson's shortest start of the year, pitching dominated the story lines for Oklahoma in the Sooner Classic and Chowning and Erben completed a solid weekend from the bullpen.

While Chowning struck out a career-high six batters and Erben picked up the win, the Sooner bullpen combined to throw 15 innings in the four games of the Sooner Classic. In that span, the relievers held the opposition scoreless and allowed six hits and five walks while striking out 23 hitters.

Offensively, Seitzer came to the rescue in the second inning on Sunday with a two-run blast over the fence in left-center field. In the ninth, he followed up his opposite field bomb with a shot down the right-field line to tie the game up at four. In the last three games, Seitzer has seven RBIs off four hits, including three homers.

The sophomore first baseman tied a career-high with three hits while Eric Ross (2-for-3) and Casey Johnson (2-for-4) also had multiple hit performances.

Oklahoma returns to action on Tuesday night at Dallas Baptist at 6:30 p.m. and comes back to Norman for a 3 p.m. showdown with Houston Baptist on Wednesday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Both games will be broadcast live for free on SoonerSports.com and Wednesday's game marks the first of 19 home games set to be televised by SoonerVision on Cox Channel 7 in Oklahoma City and Channel 3 in Tulsa.
