NORMAN, Okla. - Saturday's non-conference Bedlam contest proved to be an exciting affair as No. 25 Oklahoma State scored the game's only run in the fourth inning to defeat in-state rival No. 11 Oklahoma, 1-0. It was OSU's first win in the series in 16 tries and first since 2003. Oklahoma falls to 13-3 on the year, while the Cowgirls moved to 14-5.

After giving up a two-out single in the top of the first, Oklahoma starter Keilani Ricketts struck out Julie Ward to end the inning. The Sooners went down in order in the bottom half to end the first. The Cowgirls went down in order in the second. With two outs in the bottom frame, senior Lindsey Vandever was hit by a pitch and Ricketts drew a walk to put two runners on for OU but both were left stranded.
After a scoreless third, the Cowgirls got on the board in the top of the fourth. Julie Ward reached on a double to left and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Ward then scored on Tamara Brown's sacrifice line out to field to put OSU up 1-0.
After OSU went ahead, Cowgirl starter Anna Whiddon kept OU in check, only allowing an infield hit to sophomore Katie Norris. In the final four innings, Whiddon retired 12 of 13 batters faced.
Whiddon gave just the one hit, walked two and struck out four. Ricketts threw a complete game, allowing the one run on four hits. She walked one and struck out eight.
Ward went 1-for-3, scoring the lone run. Chelsea Garcia, Alysia Hamilton and Mariah Gearhart added the other three hits for OSU.
