Sooners Head to Final Round in Fifth

CHOUDRANT, La. - The OU men's golf squad stands fifth after rounds of 303 (+15) and 298 (+10) on Monday at the 16-team Bulldog Classic, held at the par-72, 7,105-yard Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, La.

All five Oklahoma golfers are in the top 40 after 36 holes, paced by Riley Pumphrey's (74-73) fifth-place standing.  Two shots back of Pumphrey is Liam Logan (74-75) in a share of 15th at 149 (+5). 

Ben Klaus rebounded from a tournament-opening 80 with a 1-over-par 73 in round two and heads to Tuesday's play in a tie for 26th. 

Rounding out the OU team scoring were Ben Blundell (76-78) and Tyler Rody (79-77).  Blundell currently stands tied for 31st at 154 (+10), while Rody is two shots back.  

The Sooners enter Tuesday's final round just a shot behind Louisiana Tech and New Orleans.  Ole Miss holds the overnight lead by six shots over Southeastern Louisiana after back-to-back rounds of 291 (+3). 

The final round of the 54-hole event commences at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on Tuesday.
