CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas. --
Bobby Shore tossed seven innings and limited Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to one run as the No. 15 Sooners (15-1) rolled to their 10th straight win with an 11-2 decision on Saturday in the Whataburger Collegiate Classic.

The winning streak marks the fifth time under OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway that the Sooners have won 10 or more consecutive games and the 26th in program history.

While offense has provided a huge boost as of late, the Sooners' starting pitching has dazzled as well. Shore (3-0) tied his season high with seven innings on Saturday and has lasted six or more in three of his four starts so far. Shore struck out five and finished with one run allowed off six hits and a walk against the host school in the tournament on Saturday.

"I thought Bobby Shore was the whole key today," said Golloway. "He's been great for us so far and he still has some things to learn."

The Islanders (7-6) took an early 1-0 lead off a sacrifice by Trey Hernandez but the Sooners quickly responded on a solo home run Cameron Seitzer to lead off the second inning. The first-pitch bomb was Seitzer's Big 12 leading fifth of the year, a title he shares with fellow teammate Garrett Buechele.

After the Sooners homered for the ninth straight contest, they broke open the game in the fourth and sent 10 batters to the plate. Chris Ellison started the rally with a RBI single and Buechele followed two batters later with a two-run single up the middle. Ross Hubbard's RBI double provided the last run of the frame and the extra base hit gave OU a 4-1 lead

Buechele, who entered Saturday leading the Big 12 in hits, recorded his 12th multiple-hit game of the season after just 16 games with a 3-for-5 afternoon. In 2009, the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, had 23 outings with more than one hit.

In the top of the fifth, OU eclipsed the double-digit hit mark for the fourth straight game and 12th overall, as Buechele added a RBI single an inning later

Ellison recorded a 2010 team best with three stolen bases as OU swiped eight bags against the Islanders, the most since it had eight on Feb. 12, 2006 versus Western Illinois. The hitting and base running was too much for starter Ian Campbell (1-2), who suffered the loss after 3 2/3 innings.

Despite allowing a single and a double to begin the game, Shore settled down quickly after giving up the run in the first. Across the next six frames, the Islanders only managed five base runners.

Shore received more run support in the sixth as Caleb Bushyhead and Tyler Ogle joined the hit parade with a pair of RBI singles.

The only question heading into the later innings was whether OU could reach the 10-run plateau for the second consecutive game. Max White answered that question with a RBI single in the eight and the Sooners collected their sixth game with double-digit runs.

In the first two games of the tournament, OU plated 26 runs off 35 hits.

OU concludes action in the Whataburger College Classic on Sunday against No. 10 UCLA (11-0) at 11 a.m. The Sooners' Ryan Gibson (2-0, 3.07 ERA) will start opposite the Bruins' Rob Rasmussen (0-0, 3.38 ERA).

"They are going to be tough," said Golloway about Sunday's opponent. "They have some terrific arms. Our guys are going to be up for the challenge. We are going to take whatever happens and just keep playing hard, and hope to get better, and do the little things right. That is what baseball is about."

The game will be broadcast live on the Sooner Sports Network, KREF 1400 AM and free online at SoonerSports.com. It will be joined in progress at 11:30 a.m. on KREF.
