• Oklahoma's 72-71 loss to Texas Tech was its first at home versus an unranked (AP) opponent since Jan. 12, 2008. The Sooners had won 31 straight home games versus unranked competition, with their last loss at Lloyd Noble Center coming against Kansas State (84-82) in Jeff Capel's second season. Prior to tonight, OU had won 31 of its last 32 overall home games.
• OU has shot a combined 11-of-48 (.229) from 3-point distance in its two losses to the Red Raiders this season. Its two lowest 3-point percentages in Big 12 play this season have come against Texas Tech. The Sooners were just 6-of-26 (.231) from behind the arc tonight after going 5-of-22 (.227) in Lubbock on Jan. 23. Tonight's .231 performance was OU's third-worst of the year.
• OU's 36-28 halftime deficit was its largest at home this season and marked just the third time the Sooners have trailed at the half at the Lloyd Noble Center in 2009-10. OU overcame halftime deficits in back-to-back home contests to beat both Oklahoma State (62-57) and Missouri (66-61) after trailing by margins of one and five, respectively.
• Willie Warren scored a team-high 18 points and added five assists and four rebounds. Warren led the team in scoring for the first time since netting 21 in OU's 66-61 victory over Missouri on Jan. 16.
• Tony Crocker recorded his second double-double of the season against Texas Tech (seventh overall) with 16 points and 11 rebounds. His seven career double-doubles have all come in his last 16 outings.
• With his 11 boards, Crocker became just the second Sooner to ever record 1,000 points, 500 boards and 150 3-pointers in a career (Ryan Minor is the other).
• Tiny Gallon (13 points) reached double figures in scoring for the first time since Jan. 19 at Texas A&M, breaking a four-game stretch of single-digit scoring.
• Gallon's six made field goals tied his most in Big 12 play (also had six at Baylor).
• Seven Sooners saw action tonight, with six of those playing 192 of a possible 200 minutes. Gallon came off the bench and played 23 minutes.
• OU's 40 points in the paint were its most in Big 12 play this season and were four more than the Sooners had scored in the lane over the last two games combined.
• The Sooners were swept by Texas Tech in the regular season series for the first time since the formation of the Big 12 Conference (1996-97 was the league's first year). Prior to that, the two squads hadn't met twice in a season.
