CATHEDRAL CITY - In its second game of the day, Oklahoma commanded from the start in a 9-0 six-inning win over Pacific. Sophomore starter Kirsten Allen (3-0) was perfect through 5.1 innings and allowed just two hits and one walk, all in the sixth inning. Allen struck out five on the night. Junior Chana'e Jones led OU with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate, scoring three runs and driving in two. Senior Amber Flores went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and three driven in. Junior Haley Nix went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
THE DIFFERENCE
Oklahoma's pitchers combined to allow three hits and one walk in 13 innings pitched on Thursday. OU's offense scored 13 runs on 13 hits and the defense did not commit a single error.
SCORING SUMMARY
Oklahoma plated four runs in the first inning and added one each in the second and fifth frames. Jones' second home run of the season came in the second inning. Flores came to bat in the bottom of the sixth and forced the run-rule win with her 46th career home run, a three-run shot to right field.
